Alberta Paramedicine Driver Operators Course
· Required for EMR Certification
CTEC is a certified provider of the Alberta Paramedicine Driver Operator Course (APDOC).
An APDOC course is required for the completion of the EMR course and designation. APDOC training is a 5 day demerit point reduction course approved by the Alberta College of Paramedics.
The course consists of 2 days of classroom theory and 3 days of practical exercises. These exercises cover vehicle inspections, defensive driving and skid recovery in a driving simulator.
On track exercises are performed in an ambulance to assist in the knowledge of vehicle dimensions, and cornering techniques. The exercises are practiced on a secure, closed course being supervised by highly experienced Advanced Driver Training Instructors. These exercises provide precise training with a complete understanding and control of the vehicle dynamics.
